Those that braved the weather and came out to the Lake Elsinore Casino for the Baja 1000 Drawing Party got quite a treat. Several of the top racers were on hand to put a Trophy Lite truck through its paces on the track. The action was awesome with Mikey Childress taking the overall win due to Pistol Pete’s DQ. After the race was over there was a pit crew competition that challenged the teams with barbed wire, cactus, mud pits and even blind folds, with Cameron Steele’s team taking top honors.
Wahoo’s was on hand serving up fish and chicken tacos and Ketel One was pouring the drinks. The highlight of the day had to be when Chris Blais, along with Mikey Childress and Johnny Campbell, was on stage to draw the starting position for the Trophy Trucks. Garron Cadiente will be starting first. In the Pro Motorcycle division Robby Bell from Team Honda got the pole position. As Sal fish said, the Lake Elsinore Casino puts on a great event each year and this year was no exception. We are already looking forward to next year. If you didn’t make to the party check out the photos in the gallery and make sure to catch the action from the 40th Baja 1000 on NBC, Dec. 30th.
